What's a library catalog?  It's everything in the library! Our catalog is called Destiny. The way we get to it is through Clever in the Student Toolbox. Destiny Discover is a great visual version of the catalog. You can find books and even put them on hold.

Reading reduces stress, expands knowledge, and provides free entertainment!  Some benefits of reading include stress reduction, expansion of vocabulary, exercise for the brain, helps your memory, and it's free entertainment!  https://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-book-month-october/

October Author Spotlight: Jason Reynolds

Image
This month we wanted to highlight Jason Reynolds as our author spotlight. He's a multi award-winning young adult poet, novelist and public speaker. As an advocate for reluctant readers, he writes from a multi-cultural viewpoint that encourages and highlights the experiences of black youth.  Image courtesy of: https://americanlibrariesmagazine.org/blogs/the-scoop/spider-man-jason-reynolds-ncaal/ Check out more information at  Jason Reynold's Website .  Also, check out his October newsletter here:   https://blogs.loc.gov/loc/2020/10/jason-reynolds-drop-the-mic-october-newsletter/?loclr=ealocb
